Keuring General Requirements

Entering the Keuring

* You must be an SLA member in good standing for your llama to attend any keuring. * Download and print out a Keuring Entry Form. * Fill out the form and mail with full payment before the deadline; the deadline is 45 days before the event. (Charges may be incurred for incomplete or late entries.) * You must be the owner of the llama to enter it into a keuring. * Any stabling or ground fees are arranged directly with the Keuring host. * SLA reserves the right to cancel Keurings with insufficient entries. * SLA has the right to limit Keuring entries.

KEURING REQUIREMENTS

1. Llama must be registered with an SLA recognized registry (such as ILR or CLAA). 2. Owners must show llama's Official Registration Certificate on the day of the Keuring. No llama will be allowed to enter any keuring without their certificate. This will be strictly enforced. 3. Llamas must have DNA analysis with parent verification whenever possible. 4. DNA seal must be affixed to the Official Registration Certificate, OR show proof with an SLA recognized Official DNA Analysis Report. 5. Llama must be permanently identified with a readable microchip. 6. Intact males must have two testicles. Female genitalia shall appear normal with four udder teats. Veterinary certificate with explanation will be required if these criteria are not met.
